Barbara A. Filas
President Ms. Filas is a Registered Professional Mining Engineer with over 30 years of experience in surface and underground mine operations, engineering, social and environmental assessment, and regulatory support. She has worked on six continents in a diverse portfolio of commodities including base metals, precious metals, uranium, coal and industrial minerals. She is a recognized minerals industry advocate and a champion of corporate environmental and social responsibility. Prior to joining Geovic in February 2009, Ms. Filas was President of Knight Piésold and Co., where she played a key role in the preparation of the Environmental and Social Assessment for the Project. |
